BBC ASIAN NETWORK MIX TENT LINE-UP

Hosted by Nihal

BBC Radio 1 and Asian Network's Nihal hosts and co-programmes the Mix Tent line-up for a second year, with (based on the massive 2010 success) an even bigger tent and sound-system! Not content with being a mere Master Of Ceremonies Nihal will also drop a DJ set, mixing everything from Panjabi MC's Morni to Wiz Khalifa.

SHIDE BOSS

Sony ATV supported and Karman Records signing Shide Boss is the brightest British-Asian R'n'B prospect since Jay Sean and here he makes his Mela debut for BBC Asian Network. Get ready for Shide to bring his swagger to the Mix Tent with current hitsRainbow and Ni Soniye.

Are you ready to 'Party Hard' with Donae'o? One of UK's biggest Urban music stars blesses the Mix Tent with possibly the biggest underground club anthem of the last 18 months.I wanna party hard, you see meh want party hard..

PMG (PURE MUSIC GENERALS)

Pure Music Generals are a collective of MC's, Singers, DJ's and Producers best known for street anthem 'Gym Anthem' (filmed in their local 'Pure Muscles Gym' - hence the name) and 'Bollywood Skank'. Expect pure mayhem on the Mix Tent stage!

METZ & TRIX

Manchester's Metz & Trix are back with a brand new sound and Mela anthem, withHaas Haas blending Dance and Bhangra and Surinder Rattan on the controls. Expect new material and old-skool Garage-Bhangra classics likeAaja Mahi and more.

JAGS KLIMAX

South London's finest Bhangra DJ makes his long-awaited London Mela debut with a full-on set of drum, dhol and dubstep including future smashes from forthcoming album 'Electric', releasing this month.

JERNADE MIAH

East London's Jernade Miah and 2Point9 Records signing Jernade Miah won Best Newcomer at the UK Asian Music Awards earlier this year and has built a solid fan base with anthem 'Switch Me On'.

KAMAL RAJA

Imran Khan set the gold standard for the Euro-Desi sound with 'Unforgettable' and his fellow Dutch artist from Amsterdam looks set to follow in his wake with a similar Desi-House sound and UK stardom.'No Clue' is his biggest record to date with future 'Dam Desi bangers ready to drop.

Not content with being the official London Mela Main Stage DJ Kayper will be moonlighting in the Mix Tent, driving a blinged-out golf buggy across Gunnersbury Park and delivering the kind of scratched-up DJ set that makes her BBC Asian Network Radio show a must listen.

In a scene full of imitators and hera-pheri duplicators Sonny Ji is a veritable DJ of distinction, forging his own mix of Dance and Bhangra and mangling his mixer and CDJs in ways that you wouldn't expect. Expect big House anthems and Hoye Hoyes.

DIPPS BHAMRAH

'Bhangra Breakdown' master-blaster Bhamrah makes a DJ buggy trip to the Mix Tent to drop non-stop desi anthems for a solid undiluted 30 minutes.

KAN-D-MAN & LIMELIGHT

The Desi Grime Ambassadors represent street music to the fullest with Mic Check, the only radio show to truly champion the new wave of British-Asian MC talent. Limelight drops the tunes whilst Kan-D-Man gets hype on the mic for BBC Asian Network.
