Hosted by Jay Kumar

Jay Kumar is a renowned Choreographer and Dance Entertainer with a unique and witty style that makes the Community Stage a fun place to visit and be involved. He has also produced music and is currently choreographing for a Bollywood Film called Naachle London. This year he will be performing with his troupe, DanceAsia as well as running some interactive “I Love Bollywood” dance sessions. Also there are opportunities for smaller acts to perform at the Mela’s Got Talent sessions.

To close the Stage he will be hosting once again a massive Bollywood Dance Party with a Guest DJ – Don’t miss out!

 

LINE-UP

Missy J

A young female Dhol Player that has performed alongside many top Artists recently. Missy J will open the Community Stage with a bang!

Asian Street Remix

With the slogan “Mixing yesterdays traditions with todays culture” this established Coventry based dance academy have performed nationally with many legends of the Bhangra Industry and newer artists.

NPD

NPD are a young dynamic group from Hayes that perform energetic bhangra with a modernised twist. They have recently performed on Britain's Got Talent, Got 2 Dance (Sky1), Channel 4 (The Family) and appeared on several BritAsia music videos.

Misty J

A Birmingham based dancer that specialises in her own form of Tribal Fusion Bellydancing that recently wowed the audiences at the Ideal Home Exhibition and the Ipswich Mela. Be ready to shake your hips with Misty J in her interactive bellydance session.

Drumline Entertainment

Headlining this year, Drumline Entertainment are a unique collaboration of UK based dhol drummers that have entertained a wide range of audiences around the world. They bring something different by fusing a mix of Eastern and Western music combined with the dhol!

BOYZ046

Harrow based dancers originating from Sri Lanka with own style of street and Bollywood moves to Tamil tunes.

Sonams Dance

A young East-London based troupe that specialises in Filmi and Modern Bollywood with a touch of Kathak fusion. They have performed with top Bollywood and UK based artists and at many high-profile events.

Dance-o-phrenics

A dynamic and diverse dance troupe that is totally crazy about Bollywood dancing! Regular classes are held across North-West and Central London.

 

MAGIC MELA

Kids Area

The Kids area in community is for the young and young at heart. It’s the place to be playful or peaceful. You can explore your creativity by transforming every day trash into a beautiful carnival costume, its all about participation with storytelling from Vayu Naidu and dance from Dance Asia. So join in, get your face painted and dance like a Bollywood movie star.

The Kids area is a special collaboration between the London Mela and Emergency Exit Arts, leading lights in participatory outdoor events for 30 years.

EEA creates inspirational and interactive family friendly environments and provides a wide range of activities and workshop programmes using a variety of art forms that appeal to children from early years to teenagers.
